Trish Mueller, CMO of The Home Depot

Trish Mueller, CMO of The Home Depot, brings a double-dose of fresh air to the Clubhouse between her Above the Clutter video and recent interview with Drew Neisser, CEO of Renegade, where she shared her thoughts on innovation, inspiration and all things marketing.

Having won The CMO Club Award for Innovation, Mueller shared how The Home Depot is thriving in a VUCA world (volatile, unpredictable, chaotic and ambiguous) – and how they don’t plan to let up anytime soon.
 
Never one to rest on her laurels, Mueller is constantly seeking inspiration from peers, books and blogs – and makes a point of looking well beyond the home improvement industry, too.  Recognizing the importance of risk taking, she credits fostering a “very strong communications-based culture” that encourages a continuous stream of new and innovative ideas. Importantly, Home Depot’s internal “Big Swing” award, not only recognizes those that came up with successful ideas for the brand, but also those that inspired great learning experiences – even if the idea didn’t work out as originally hoped.
