Chief Marketing Officer/Senior Vice President, Marketing – CVENT

Job description
Cvent is seeking a results-oriented Chief Marketing Officer/Senior Vice President, Marketing who will be a key member of the Senior Management team. We are looking for someone with a demonstrated history of driving growth and profitability, preferably in a B2B marketing environment.

The Chief Marketing Officer/Senior Vice President, Marketing will lead a 300 person global marketing team. This seasoned marketing expert will be responsible for managing all marketing functions globally to include the vision, strategy and execution.
Marketing and Brand Strategy:
– Act as thought-leader and change-agent for the Cvent brand globally, including: all aspects of branding, public image; marketing and advertising strategy; external communications; public and industry relations and policy; media relations; sales campaigns, and marketing metrics
– Own positioning, messaging, branding, segmentation and marketing strategy
– In collaboration with sales continuously refine comprehensive go to market plan across multiple geos, channels and market segments
– Guide development of premium content and engaging presentations, one-pagers, case studies, research reports, blog posts, social media, and webinars to highlight Cvent’s innovative value proposition and industry insights

Customer Marketing:
– Utilize critical market & competitive research to segment and define target markets, refine and improve the product value proposition and implement the best market-penetration strategy
– Ensure rigor and discipline across company-wide programs that support integrated marketing and business development models
– Work closely with Cvent Executive team to develop and execute dynamic campaigns that drive growth for their target segments
– Capitalize on digital marketing and leverage the latest technologies to improve upon the Cvent brand

Demand Generation:
– Develop the company’s market-specific lead generation capabilities
– Develop Cvent’s global marketing communications materials including collateral and direct response programs, trade shows, and web/interactive/social media

Operations:
– Be a great leader, coach, and manager to a marketing organization of over 300 people
– Manage all aspects of marketing planning, budgeting, metrics and reporting
– Manage external agencies and relationships with marketing services

A strong candidate for this role looks like this:
– Strong understanding and experience in SaaS, inbound marketing and “land and expand” B2B sales
– 20+ years of well-rounded marketing experience in positions of increasing responsibility, with a focus on marketing expansion and identifying emerging market trends
– 10 years of leadership experience with the ability to motivate and provide professional development
– Marketing leader who has had a span of control of at least 100 team members
– Thorough knowledge of marketing principles, demand generation, brand, product and service management, sales and business development; along with a demonstrated track record of success and performance
– Advanced experience working with a variety of traditional and modern marketing and communications functions including: branding and messaging to different target audience
– An understanding of all aspects of email marketing, online advertising, and working with the press and other related media outlets
– Past experience creating a demand generation center (“demand waterfall”) is a plus
– Bachelor’s degree. Top-school MBA is preferred
