Title: Chief Marketing Officer
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer

Position Overview:
The Chief Marketing Officer will be a key member of the executive team and will report directly the Chief
Operating Officer. The CMO will provide leadership, strategy and management of the company’s
marketing department. The successful candidate will have accountability for creating and implementing a go-to-market strategy that includes support for current products and markets across the broad spectrum of today’s marketing channels. The CMO must be a strong leader with the ability to drive the
development and implementation of strategic marketing activities on a company-wide basis, capable of
establishing tactical plans and be accountable for results. This leader will direct the activities of the
marketing team in creating innovative marketing campaigns that build brand awareness and increase
market share while staying within key performance targets. Elevate is seeking an experienced, game-changing, transformative marketing innovator to lead the marketing organization, who will inject fresh thinking and align marketing’s contribution strategically to the wider business goals. Acting as the voice of authority, he/she will be responsible for creating and delivering locally relevant marketing programs that enable achievement of the company’s growth and revenue expectations and create phenomenal experiences for its customers. Responsibilities:
 Lead development of company market strategy, working with the CEO, COO and Senior
Management peers to create shared vision.
 Identify and prioritize key marketing initiatives that will generate the most profitable and
sustainable growth for the company.
 Develop a coherent and integrated approach to digital consumer marketing – ensuring common
frameworks/approach to planning and budgeting, core processes, metrics, performance criteria
and key capabilities are in place and optimized.
 Improve the approach to marketing analytics and understanding of the ROI for marketing
initiatives. Provide a clear line of sight into overall marketing allocation and activities by centrally
tracking and reporting on how dollars are being spent.
 Drive a culture of “test & learn” and ensure measurement is built into the DNA of Elevate’s
employees. Communicate the effectiveness of marketing programs in a consistent (quantitative
and qualitative) way to the executive team.
 Upgrade capabilities of the function by recruiting high caliber marketers to work for Elevate –
develop a reputation for being “the place to work” for external marketing talent.
 Coach and mentor marketing talent, ensure growth and development of leading-edge skills are
attained along with rigorous adoption of performance management standards.
 Focus on the creation/optimization of effective organizational structures to ensure clear lines of
accountability, decision making and effective engagement with businesses supported.
 Develop a comprehensive plan to promote brand recognition, foster a competitive edge and grow
market share.
 Define marketing strategy; optimize marketing budget and program spend to achieve goals.
 Apply experience, creativity and leadership to develop and achieve long-term, strategic goals.
 Develop programs with quantifiable objectives to measure results, implementing measures and
analytics to determine marketing effectiveness and ROI.
 Position a brand and build equity.
 Become a visionary with a deep understanding of traditional and innovative marketing strategies
and a proven track record of creating campaigns and initiatives.
 Execute expert business planning with strong bias to action.
 Oversee and direct the efforts of the marketing team.
Professional Qualifications:
 Bachelor Degree Required, MBA is a plus.
 15 years + experience with at least 5 years in a senior level management/leadership role with a
proven track-record in marketing strategy, brand marketing and marketing communications –
preferably in Lending, Technology, or Consumer Products industries.
 Strong leadership skills, visionary, with a business-minded approach, able to move from the big
picture/ strategic perspective to the important details while maintaining perspective.
 Resourceful and creative in approach; able to work with a blank sheet of paper as well as able to
make skillful use of data and analytics.
 Passion and conviction for their ideas and proposals – a collaborator with first-rate
communication and influencing skills.
 Ability to work in partnership in a matrix organization, and achieve positive results.
 Highly skilled in the recruitment, development and management of top tier talent.
 Experienced leader of senior-level marketing teams.
 Strategic thinker first and foremost; also able to lead tactical execution.
 Proven track record of building brand awareness and market share.
 Track record of developing comprehensive marketing and business development strategies.
 Ability to understand changing market dynamics, translating them into actionable strategies to
achieve company objectives.
 Advanced experience working with a variety of traditional and modern marketing and
communications functions including: branding and messaging to different target audiences.
 Highly self-motivated and objective driven. Will be keen to apply strategic vision and marketing
acumen to a highly challenging role.
