CMO, Flywheel Sports (NYC)

The Chief Marketing Officer will be responsible for the conception and implementation of the overall brand vision and marketing strategy for Flywheel Sports, leading all channels on a global level. This leader will be a storyteller and community architect, providing strategic leadership across the organization to ensure the brand is converting a broader audience with consistent, effective, market appropriate messaging and a unified and engaging customer experience. He / She will bring a high degree of experience in the translation of brand strategy into marketing communications intended to drive short and long term growth of the brand, developing digital, social and related marketing and brand building initiatives that revolutionize and disrupt the marketplace and exceed sales goals. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of business innovation with a passion for building brands and driving demand through customized and powerful marketing efforts, integrated campaigns, content marketing, digital initiatives, social media and new technology. He / she will be experienced in both content and brand marketing across multiple channels, including digital and in studio with leadership experience developing and managing teams across marketing functions that have consistently met or exceeded expectations.


Drive the articulation of Flywheel’s unique brand positioning through the end to end consumer experience from the studio through to digital properties and platforms
Provide leadership and drive the culture and vision for a 15+ person marketing team across a range of areas including creative, direct and brand marketing
Oversee and drive each of the marketing functional areas to develop innovative strategies and campaigns to increase market awareness of Flywheel’s brand; Establish Flywheel as an industry leader to help achieve market share growth and revenue goals
Develop marketing strategies across channels and markets, in addition to overseeing marketing execution
Enhance our storytelling ability by bringing our brand and values to life in new and unexpected ways
Oversee the implementation of integrated marketing plans to extend and maintain Flywheel’s brand and key goals across all elements of marketing mix, including advertising, online, in-studio, PR
Partner with internal and external departments such as Studio Operations and Creative to effectively meet goals and spearhead the development of broad scale marketing initiatives.
Responsible for the further development of our (CRM) initiatives to meet specific KPI’s, using customer insights to find strategic solutions to grow the business and brand.
Manage partnerships with external media and creative agencies, ensuring marketing spend is on budget and that funds are allocated to generate high-impact results with maximum efficiency.
Continue to enhance and drive Flywheel’s badass culture, ensuring a fun and positive work environment!
Participate as a key member on the Flywheel leadership in driving all cross functional business goals, reporting to the CEO
Required Experience & Competencies:

12+ years multi-channel marketing experience with a specific emphasis on brand strategy via agency or client side
Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s in marketing, advertising, public relations or closely related discipline
A brand marketer who has a demonstrated track record of leading aspirational brands that are highly connected to their consumers
A brand architect who is comfortable drawing from both data and intuition to identify opportunities and cultural shifts
Deep field/regional and preferably global experience a huge plus
Developed leadership skills along with proven experience managing creative teams in an in-house or agency environment
Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills
Demonstrated success collaborating, partnering and influencing at all levels and across all functions of the organization
Comfortable managing large project portfolio deadlines and deliverables in a fast paced, changing environment
Recognizable executive presence and presentation
