IDG Communications has an exciting new opportunity for a digital-savvy, CMO.
The Chief Marketing Officer will be responsible for planning, directing and leading marketing initiatives across IDG Communications Worldwide as well as IDG Corporate. As a member of IDG’s executive team, the CMO will lead a worldwide marketing organization, determine how the company goes to market, and orchestrate the customer experience. As with all IDG executive team members, the CMO will be an agent of progress, innovation, and change — energetically and proactively seizing opportunities for the company. This newly created position will be responsible for leading a cohesive team, capable of influencing and delivering the company’s overall agenda. Areas of focus include public relations, corporate communications, digital marketing, product marketing, marketing operations, creative, and market insights.
Desired Skills and Experience
In this position you will work directly with the CEO and the senior leadership team and lead the corporate marketing team to deliver on the overall marketing strategy for the company. Specific responsibilities include supporting the strategic business objectives through thorough and concise communication programs that leverage social media, development of annual media kit, maintenance of content for corporate websites and increasing visibility for IDG Communications on a global scale. Ideal candidates will have 10+ years of media-based business/marketing leadership, demonstrated success implementing leading-edge marketing practices, prior experience as a member of a company’s senior leadership team and the ability to partner continually and closely with the CEO. Candidates should bring a point of view and be able to defend it in conversations with the CEO and other senior leaders. Experience leading a variety of marketing disciplines, including public relations, corporate communications, demand generation, field marketing, digital marketing, marketing operations, marketing measurement, brand and messaging, social media, analyst relations and design is a must.
