Plans, oversees, coordinates and ensures execution of all LIU US marketing and broker relationship activities, including LIU U.S. and Latin America operations, in support of LIU US’ planned business objectives.
Creates and implements an annual plan that effectively utilizes senior managers to broaden and deepen relationships between LIU US and targeted brokers by fostering coordination, regular communication, the exchange of data and analytics, and regular interaction between senior managers of LIU US and said brokers.
Creates and executes a high-level, comprehensive broker relationship strategy annually that mines and utilizes company data and results, and identifies specific targeted increases in production, profitability and diversification for select first- and second-tier brokers, including retailers, wholesalers and program administrators.
Creates and supports a written marketing plan with underlying costs that effectively and efficiently utilizes company resources and supports LIU US’ annual business plans.
Lead the development and implementation of an integrated client approach for the marketing and distribution of new and existing products, as appropriate.
Identifies and grows new production sources.
Develops and launches client segmentation models.
Develops and uses an analytics strategy with respect to marketing and distribution activities.
Evaluates and recommends technology, if any, that can enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of interactions between LIU US underwriters and brokers, including but not limited to CRM products like Salesforce and Exchange.
Creates, oversees and implements strategies to enhance and strengthen LIU’s brand.
Creates, oversees and implements LIU-wide and product-specific marketing utilizing advertising, websites, email, banners and other electronic media, social media, articles, press releases, events, sponsorships, sales support and other strategies to support the growth and profitability goals of LIU US.
Creates, modifies and deploys tools for LIU US employees to effectively and efficiently market our products, people, capabilities and appetite to brokers, as well as to colleagues within LIU and Liberty Mutual.
Collaborates, coordinates and communicates, as necessary, with counterparts within Liberty Mutual.
Identifies and retains internal and external resources, as necessary, to effectively and efficiently deliver marketing plans.
Manages executive internal communication and LIU US’ internal communication to Global Specialty and within Liberty Mutual.
Manages all marketing and broker relationship staff, as necessary, to effectuate the marketing and broker relationship strategy of LIU US.
Preparation, Training and Experience A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required; an advanced degree such as an MBA a significant plus. Requires fifteen or more years working in the P&C insurance business with at least five years in underwriting and/or marketing roles. Company and broker experience a significant plus. Significant connections in the P&C insurance market required. Written and verbal communication in English is required; proficiency in Spanish and Portuguese a plus. Must have a proven track record of effectively planning and deploying various marketing and communication strategies for insurance products. Expert knowledge of specialty insurance products and insurance distribution networks. Solid knowledge of underwriting concepts, practices, procedures, etc. Strong negotiation skills and exceptional analytical, organizational and decision making skills. Ability to travel up to 50% of the time. Experience and skill with mining and manipulating data is a significant plus, as well as experience with CRM software. Strong written and oral communication skills required. The individual must be detail-oriented but also very capable of seeing the big picture.
