The Chief Marketing Officer for News America Marketing is responsible for a 25+ person department and oversight of areas to include: marketing services, research, new product development, international expansion, and digital marketing initiatives. This leader will develop and implement the company’s marketing efforts supporting and enhancing our branded portfolio of products and services. S/he will work with internal partners, including sales, finance, information technology, and production to meet strategic business needs from conception to execution of key initiatives. Using market, industry, and consumer data and insights to identify best opportunities for development of the business domestically and globally will be a priority.
Job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Lead a market research team that will: help clients build and grow their brands using the company’s branded portfolio of products, from strategy development through to marketing execution and assessment of brand performance and future potential; and provide research-based advice to help our clients successfully manage their brand assets and optimize the return on their promotion investments thereby creating value for our clients.
Lead new product development by: evaluating new product opportunities and analyzing potential in terms of sales, profit, and assessing ideal fit against other portfolio products; and launching new products by forming and leading cross-functional work teams ensuring that the launch activities are carried out timely across all departments.
Lead digital marketing initiatives by: collaborating internally with sales departments to assess client needs and develop and manage digital strategies and programs to meet those needs; use consumer data and analytics to develop future strategies.
Lead international product and services expansion by: partnering with international sister companies to identify key business opportunities; and helping define and execute strategy to drive business internationally.
· 10+ years marketing experience, preferably within a CPG organization
· Demonstrated experience with brand management and retailers and manufacturers
· BA in marketing/communications/business/liberal arts
· Entrepreneurial mindset
· Strong interpersonal skills; positive, energetic, and open minded
· Confident and comfortable presentation skills
· Ability to travel domestically and internationally
· Flexibility to adjust quickly to changes and deliver on tight deadlines
· Must be proactive and solution-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency
