The Chief Marketing Officer will act as a “strategic captain” for the company – interpreting trends, providing insights about customers and competitors and developing strategies. The CMO must connect the dots – unlocking the brand DNA and exploding that into everything the brand does. The CMO’s performance will be measured by same-store sales, profitability and return on investment.
Desired Skills and Experience
Experience and proven track record as SVP or higher from major restaurant, retailer or hotel company
Must be highly creative and possess a track record of success in driving profitable sales and improved brand awareness
Highly experienced with digital marketing and social media
Proven ability to understand customer trends and behaviors to be able to factor those needs and motivators into the brand development and marketing plan
Balanced strength in both strategic issues and tactical efforts
Ability to handle a complex multi-faceted role in a fast paced, demanding and changing environment
Strong analytical skills.
High energy and creative individual
A strong communicator, with an ability to listen, as well as be a concise communicator and articulate a message quickly

There was no shortage of restaurants when Not Your Average Joe’s first opened in 1994. There was, however, a shortage of great restaurants with reasonable prices in the suburbs. Tired of driving too far and paying too much, Steve Silverstein decided to build the restaurant he was longing for. The name Not Your Average Joe’s came out of Steve’s determination to avoid the run-of-the-mill-restaurant rut.
