Digital Account Director – NJ

Job Summary:
An Account Director is responsible for the overall health, satisfaction, success and growth of key accounts and is the key client contact on each account or brand. He/she is an expert in their clients’ businesses and in digital marketing. They are responsible for overall client satisfaction, strategy and program delivery. Account Directors have a thorough understanding of our agency and how to bring innovative marketing solutions to our clients. Their responsibilities include building and growing strong senior level client relationships, providing strategic direction to the account teams, scoping projects and in some cases, developing staff. They will help secure new business with plan writing and program development. They are also responsible for crisis management and intervention for team, client and account issues.
Responsibilities Include:
• Serves as on-site strategic lead and liaison between client brand leadership and enterprise digital/social media strategy lead
• Provides ongoing consel and direction to brands
• Represents enterprise digital/social media strategy to ensure brand activation aligns with enterprise strategy
• Lead presentations, reviews brand social/digital strategy
• Client-side direct report to client enterprise social media leadership; agency side reporting directly to division SVP
• Leads and cultivates senior-level client relationships to achieve highest level of client satisfaction/retention
• Is an expert in our clients’ brands, structure and industry; and ensures our offerings are aligned with clients’ objectives and organization
• Leads business review meetings and participates in other senior-level client meetings (including new business pitches as needed)
• Leverages our agency’s capabilities and expertise to bring innovative and creative solutions to help clients maximize profit and efficiency from their marketing spend
• Organically grows digital/social media strategies and tactical application accounts by recognizing brand business challenges/goals, identifying opportunties, and advocating for digital/social media solutions with brand teams
• Creates competitive and breakthrough strategies and plans with the support of
our resources
• Ability to anticipate future consequences and trends which translates into client strategies and plans
• Responsible for client’s billing activity, budgeting, expense tracking and media spend management
Qualifications:
• Strong technical understanding of digital performance marketing i.e. Paid, Owned and Earned products and services such as Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Social Media Management and Display Marketing
• Ability to think strategically; and identify and resolve problems in a client-centric environment.
• Ability to nurture and retain client and employee relationships
• Proven track record of successfully directing and managing client-service focused technical project execution
• Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong managerial experience
• Experience working with financial data and budgets
• Ability to analyze complex issues and to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs and recommendations to solve client challenges
• High levels of integrity, autonomy, and self-motivation

Requirements:
• At least 8+ years of client management experience working on large, integrated accounts within Public Relations, marketing, communications or advertising
• At least 4+ years of demonstrated success in leading an account team in the digital media industry
• Pharmaceutical & healthcare experience preferred; highly regulated industry experience mandatory
• Extensive experience managing, motivating and leading account team
• Adept at managing client expectations as they relate to scope and delivery of service
• Prior experience working with the financials of an account in a client-services organization
• Ability to collaborate effectively with other agency capabilities to meet common goals
• Strong digital marketing background and familiarity with multiple channels
• Bachelor’s degree required
