Director of Marketing Global Events – Entrust Datacard (Minneapolis, Dallas)

Director, Events Strategy and Execution REQ# 5392

Position Overview:
The director of events is responsible for developing and leading Entrust Datacard’s events strategy and execution. He or she supports executive leadership as an events advisor and strategist, reporting into the VP, Marketing and Brand. This positions manages a worldwide events team.
Develop coordinated, enterprise-wide events strategy
Set measurable objectives for events by type, size and location
Oversee events measurement, including the design and operation of relevant dashboards and reports to forecast, measure, analyze and report on impact of events
Oversee the selection of agencies and third party vendors, when applicable
Collaborate with demand center, product marketing and sales to ensure there is a cohesive pre-event, at-event and post-event strategy to increase engagement
Proactively engage with direct and indirect sales teams to coordinate, communicate and optimize the impact of event activities
Communicate to and educate executive leadership regarding new and planned event activities including global, regional and local programs
Strong consultative approach in order to effectively engage with marketing, sales and channel partners as well as the buyer and customer community
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required, with certifications/affiliations in CMP, CSEP
Ten or more years of related experience, including seven to 10 years of experience in event management with leading tradeshows, roadshows, executive conferences, consulting or other b-to-b environments
Minimum five to eight years in leadership and people management roles
Hands-on corporate event planning and logistics experience, ideally within the same or similar industry
Management of event communications to multiple complex stakeholder groups at a local, regional, national and international scale
Selection of third-party vendors and agencies
Management of projects, budgets and resource allocation to support success and efficiency
Previous demonstrated linkage of event efforts to an organization’s broader growth plan including pipeline impact, creation and acceleration
Flexible, with strong business sense
Can execute on a number of tasks simultaneously
