SVP Digital Marketing Enterprise – GM Financial

Job description

SVP Digital is responsible for digital marketing including execution and performance of all digital properties as well as strategy, technical implementation with IT counterparts and operation of the marketing enterprise technologies. The SVP of digital will align marketing technology and execution with business goals, serving as a liaison to Information Technology (IT), evaluating, choosing and procuring technology providers, and executing development of initiatives in an Agile environment.In addition this senior level role will set the digital vision and strategy for digital, champion greater experimentation, test and learn, and Agile management of digital and marketing capabilities, and serve as a change agent working across the company to create competitive advantages. The role will own responsibility for a holistic and compelling Digital Experience solution for GMF customers.



  • Lead the strategy and serve as a liaison around implementation and adoption of all digital technology including adobe, messaging, chat, AI, mobile
  • Define and execute strategy for digital revenue growth, overall operational cost reduction, customer satisfaction and retention
  • Work closely with the international team integrate digital solutions globally to generate revenue, decrease cost and increase customer satisfaction
  • Build team of marketing, digital and technology experts to develop and implement marketing/digital technology, campaigns, and programs
  • Provide integrated strategy across digital channels including web, mobile, chat, messaging, AI, and other core and immerging technologies and processes
  • Build team to implement and manage digital properties for conversion, personalization, cost reduction, retention, and customer satisfaction including expertise in the Adobe Marketing Cloud
  • Collaborate with CMO and other senior executive leadership in IT and Marketing
  • Liaison with GM Marketing and IT groups on shared strategy, execution, measurement and adjustments
  • Lead organization in development of digital strategy and roadmap integrated in to Omni-channel delivery and execution
  • Lead and implement strategic partnerships for delivery of business and digital goals
  • Build and lead team in craft and designing customer experience and user interface for digital properties including BtoC, BtoB, social media, SEO and social
  • Implement and execute brand strategies through digital properties coordinated across channels
  • Lead the technical facets of agency and service provider relationships, contract negotiations and day-to-day operations
  • Lead team and organization in designing and implementing Agile strategies and practices for the digital team – align with GMF IT in advancing Agile adopting throughout the Enterprise
  • Lead team and organization in optimizing omni channel experience for revenue generation, cost reduction, brand, and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure Marketing is proficient with the technology selected and implemented to attract, acquire and retain customers
  • Lead team and organization in day to day operation and management of digital properties
  • Collaborate with business owners to initiate and execute business strategies online
  • Monetizing web properties via product development, advertising and partnerships
  • Liaison with GM parent Marketing and IT groups on shared strategy, execution, measurement and adjustments
  • Liaison with executive management to ensure company goals are executed online
  • Lead, manage and grow the front & back end development team, Adobe teams and project execution teams
  • Expand online automotive shopping and online auto financing tools
  • Establish departmental processes that work into current IT systems including code review, maintaining and deployment management
  • Ability to maintain integrity of the design and brand throughout the entire development process
  • Updates job knowledge by researching new internet/intranet technologies and software products; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations; attending and presenting at industry conferences

Additional Knowledge and Skills

  • Extensive Portfolio of online experience required, preferably with well-known online brands


  • Bachelor’s Degree , equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of degree required
  • Master’s Degree preferred


  • Greater than 10 years or digital experience required
  • 5-7 years of digital marketing experience with auto and financial services required
  • 5-7 years of Adobe and/or other content management experience required
  • 5-7 years management experience required
