SVP, Marketing for JBG SMITH (NYSE: JBGS; $6.3B market cap). You may not know who they are, but when Amazon went looking for a home for its second headquarters (“HQ2”), JBG SMITH was the partner they selected – out of 236 responses – to develop and manage the project. JBG SMITH owns, operates, invests in, and is developing a dynamic portfolio of high-quality, mixed-use properties, in and around the Washington, DC area. Through an intense focus on “place-making,” the Company cultivates vibrant, amenity-rich, walkable neighborhoods throughout the Capital region (Maryland, Virginia, DC), including National Landing where it serves as the exclusive development partner for Amazon’s HQ2. JBG SMITH is also the largest real estate firm solely focused on the Washington DC region.

This new SVP, Marketing will be responsible for crafting compelling and innovative plans to enhance awareness of, and preference for, the JBG SMITH brand and its branded property assets, in both residential (B2C) and commercial/retail channels (B2B). These contemporary and creative strategies and programs will serve as the foundation for generating demand, traffic, acquisition (new leases) and retention. Strategic Marketing plans will impact the business, from construction through openings, and on an ongoing basis. This role is a tremendous opportunity for someone who wants to build and lead significant brand development for an already successful public company. The position reports to the Company’s Chief Development Officer (who leads all new projects for JBG SMITH) and it’s located at the Company’s headquarters in Chevy Chase, MD.

The candidates we’re seeking have the following experience profile:

  • Brand Development – CPG foundation preferred; must bring world-class Brand skills
  • Hospitality – Hotels, Motels, Resorts, Cruise Lines, Casinos, QSR and Casual Dining
  • Multi-Unit Retail – Fitness Centers, Mall/Shopping Center developers, REIT’s
  • Digital/Social – Experienced leveraging the full Digital toolkit, particularly Social
  • Team Builder – Must bring success building and developing world class Marketing teams
