VP, Marketing and Business Development, MOFILM Los Angeles

COMPANY BACKGROUND

Mofilm is a privately held, debt-free company headquartered in London with offices in Los Angeles, Bangalore and Beijing. The company is the world’s largest video crowd-sourcing company working with the world's biggest brands including Coke, Unilever and General Motors amongst its 80 global clients on the roster.

Mofilm inspires filmmakers to create videos for big brands and social causes. The revolutionary new process is transforming the video creation industry by connecting brands more directly with filmmakers and eliminating the multiple layers of bureaucracy and administration that can often water down creativity and inflate costs in a traditional process. Mofilm runs multiple major video competitions every year, offering millions of dollars in prizes to filmmakers plus the chance to travel to unforgettable destinations around the world, including Cannes Lions, Rio, Lollapalooza, Taj Mahal, GSM Barcelona, South-by-Southwest, Consumer Electronics Show Las Vegas, and many others.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President of Business Development will work out of our Los Angeles office and help expand relationships with West Coast clients. This is a senior-level role with strong business development and client service underpinnings. Based in Los Angeles, he/she will play a leadership role in growing awareness of MOFILM services with existing and potential clients across the United States, with a particular focus on the West Coast. The VP will also play an active role in leading the success and growth of our new capability, MOFILMmaker – a fully automated online production marketplace scheduled to launch in January 2014.

Reports to: President – Mofilm USA, with dotted line to CEO

Direct Reports: TBD

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and grow the MOFILMmaker product offering

  • Grow revenues of all MOFILM offerings from the West Coast market

  • Provide leadership in client development and management

  • Develop and lead marketing initiatives to drive awareness and grow creative community

  • Manage a strong team in Los Angeles in line with business growth

  • Sit on the global management team to develop strategy

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Over 10 years of experience working for large consumer brands (i.e. – Coke, Unilever, GM etc) or large agencies (i.e. – Goodby, McCann, JWT etc), ideally with an established network in the consumer products, financial, entertainment and automotive industries;

  • Proven experience in developing and launching a successful new product offering

  • Solid understanding and knowledge of the digital landscape, deep involvement in the social media space;

  • Substantial experience and understanding of marketing and client service, comfortable working with both international and domestic companies

  • Track record in developing and growing client relationships on the West Coast.
