Jessica Denny, Social Media Manager, The CMO Club

This week, we decided to turn the spotlight on some of our very own and talk with the people who work each day to help make The CMO Club an amazing place for you and your peers. Here, we talk with Jessica Denny, Social Media Manager of The CMO Club.

1. What do you love most about your job?

I love that there is always a new idea or project to tackle. Working in social media, there is definitely some repetition and things that have to happen daily in order to keep things running smoothly. But working on a small team like The Club means there are always opportunities to take on new tasks outside your typical duties.

2. What CMO Club programs, content, events and/or changes are you most excited about right now?

I am continually most excited for the next Summit. I LOVE these events. At the end of each one, it is so rewarding to look back and see how much value our members got out of Summit. I always feel proud of all the hard work out team puts in to pull it off.

And being a marketer myself, I get so much out of them, too!

3. What is the best piece of career advice you’ve ever received?

Be adaptable and embrace change. If you don’t, you’ll get left behind. I learned this from my first boss and it has always stuck with me.

4. What is your favorite book or movie (or both)?

Harry Potter. I grew up with it – always waiting anxiously for the next book to come out – from middle school through my freshman year of college.

5. What’s the best trip you’ve ever taken?

My recent trip to Barcelona and Italy. I drank a bunch of great wine, saw beautiful historic sites, ate my weight in gelato – and got engaged to my favorite person while in Cinque Terre!

6. Do you have a favorite food?

I love all food but my favorite is probably Flank Steak with Chimichurri sauce.

7. Who is your hero?

My parents share this title. They are always going out of their way to help people, often putting their own convenience and comfort aside to brighten someone’s day. For example, they just became foster parents after my youngest sister left for college.

8. What do you do for fun?

I love cooking and baking. I also love traveling (vacationing) and finding new hikes or unique things in nature wherever we are exploring at the time!
